Employee Value Proposition Project

Employee Value Proposition (EVP) Project Purpose

Aligned with Priority 3/Goal 1 of the strategic plan, an EVP will empower campus to communicate more cohesively the benefits, values, and experiences that CMU offers its employees.

  • Having an EVP will focus faculty and staff recruitment communications on the authentic experience of our current employees. A focused approach will help us recruit top talent.
  • Importantly, it will also help align our culture with institutional goals, strengthening engagement and retention of the talent that already calls CMU home.

What's included in an Employee Value Proposition?

  • An employee value proposition defines and communicates the unique benefits, values, and experiences that CMU offers its employees.  It will focus on several key pillars of the employee experience:
    • Material Support: Salary, benefits, tuition waivers, equipment, schedules
    • Growth Opportunities: Professional development, training, and skill-building
    • Well-being: Resources supporting physical, mental, social, and financial
    • Environment: Flexibility, work-life balance, safe working conditions
    • Culture: Community, recognition, meaningful mission and vision, aligning values and behaviors

  • August - September: Communication of project to employee focus groups
