Global Ambassador Program
What is a global ambassador
The Global Ambassador Program invites international students and scholars to join a diverse group of individuals in sharing their experiences with others at CMU and in the Mount Pleasant community.
As a global ambassador, you'll have the chance to make a meaningful impact when you share your story and make new connections through speaking events, presentations and cultural activities.
The program has several goals:
- Teach people about difference countries and cultures.
- Help people from different backgrounds learn from each other.
- Support international students and scholars in our community.
- Show that CMU cares about welcoming everyone and supporting students.
The program connects people and fosters a welcoming community. It is a great chance to share your culture, meet new people and grow as a leader!
Why become an ambassador
As a Global Ambassador, you will:
- Learn more about other cultures and help people learn about your own.
- Improve your public speaking and presentation skills.
- Make new friends and find ways to connect with others.
- Receive training on how to guide and support others from the Leadership Institute.
- Receive a certificate of service, which you can include on your résumé or in a portfolio.
- Have free transportation to events that are not on campus.
Requirements to be an ambassador
To be a Global Ambassador, you must:
- Be in good academic standing at CMU and follow visa and immigration rules.
- Be ready to attend activities in your campus or local area.
- Know a lot about your home country and enjoy sharing your experiences.
- Be enthusiastic about sharing knowledge of different cultures, languages and backgrounds.
- Complete the Global Ambassador Program training and orientation.
Join the Global Ambassador program
Global Ambassadors help people learn about how people live around the world. They support cross-cultural education and connect people from many places at Central Michigan University.
